We wandered the sun-baked ruins of Volubilis, a Roman ghost town. Our guide, a local with a penchant for dramatic storytelling, brought the place to life. We dodged stray cats and pondered the faded mosaics, imagining the bustling marketplace and the orgies that once filled these crumbling halls. It was a morning well-spent, a journey back to a time when Rome ruled the world and this dusty Moroccan outpost was a thriving metropolis.
